Relicensing

Background to relicensing of Sector Skills Councils

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) is currently undertaking the relicensing process for the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) and the other 24 Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) in the SSC network. The FSSC, along with other SSCs in the network, are coming to the end of their first four year licence and are part of a re-licensing programme.

Each SSC is an employer-led, independent organisation that covers a specific sector across the UK. The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) is the Sector Skills Council for financial services, and more recently accountancy and finance.

The relicensing assessments will be carried out by the National Audit Office as an independent third party in consultation with employers and others using a process designed to be consistent, robust and effective.

More information about the relicensing process, including detailed information for employers in the 'employer prospectus', is available at www.ukces.org.uk
